What is summer camp about?
These camps are designed so that young people could learn about nature, experience the comradery of others, and ultimately hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Each year the Camp Team chooses a theme that focused on Christ. Our primary purpose is to engage youth with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have specific times for worship and teaching, but our goal is to include the Gospel into everything we do. We believe that lives are changed during the sessions, but we know that some of the best ministry opportunities come during camp activities.
The mornings are filled with group sessions that aim to lead campers spiritual growth through the Bible, God’s Holy Word.
The evening is filled with worship through song, followed by the preaching of God’s Word.
We end the day with cabin group time, a chance for campers to discuss what they gleaned from the days teachings.
Who can attend summer camp?
Junior Camp is for elementary youth. All campers that are entering the 1st – 6th grade in the Fall school year are invited to attend Junior Camp.
Senior Camp is designed for those youth entering the 7th – 12th grade in the Fall school year.
** No younger/older children/siblings will be allowed to stay on site if they do not meet the above criteria.
**Registered Church chaperones will be allowed to stay on site with their registered youth group.
How many overnight campers can the camp accommodate?
Our maximum capacity for overnight campers is 168 per camp. Both camps are coed camps.
Where will campers sleep?
Camp consist of a boy’s cabin area and a girl’s cabin area. In each area there are three cabins, with bunk beds, that can accommodate up to 28 campers.
For youth groups from visiting churches – We make every attempt to house your entire youth group together and will never put one camper from your group by themselves. Due to the different ratios of male and female campers, we cannot provide exact cabin information until the week before you arrive. It may be that your group shares a cabin with another church youth group. We will give you the housing assignment but leave the assignment of specific campers to beds up to you.
At Campground we have follow a strict policy which requires that adults cannot share sleeping or showering space with a minor unless in a bunkbed room with at least 1 adult per 10 campers present. We require adults to set “adult bathroom times” with the other adults in their cabin and post it where youth can see to make sure youth and adults shower/changing area usage is separate.
Are chaperones required?
We require churches to send one male chaperone and one female chaperone for every 10 campers that your group brings. If a church is unable to send chaperones, if your child is not coming with a church, or if your child is a member of Campground Baptist Church, we will supply chaperones from our group of camp staff.
Check-In and Pick-Up Procedures
Camp check-in and dismissal times are listed in the summer camp booklet, as well as on the camp confirmation e-mail you will receive once you have registered.
Can campers leave the site during camp?
It is preferred that campers do not leave the camp while camp is in session. If a camper needs to leave the camp, written parental permission must be received by the camp office. Upon departure, the camper must sign out in the office, or with the Camp Director after office hours. When a camper returns, he/she must sign back in. Written permission must begin to the camp office if a camper is to leave with someone other than a parent or legal guardian.
Who makes up the Camp Staff?
Volunteers, from Campground Baptist Church, serve on the Camp Team. School teachers, pastors, parents, college and high school students are examples of those serving. Each volunteer has passed a background check.
Can campers bring snacks?
Yes, campers can bring their own snacks to enjoy during cabin time. All meals and some snacks will be provided throughout the camp. The Snack Shack will open certain times for campers to purchase snacks of their choice, so be sure to bring a little snack money (most items are .50 cents to $1.00 each).
What will campers need for small groups and worship?
Bible, pen/pencil, and notebook
What are some necessities that campers should pack?
- Pillow, sleeping bag or twin sheets, blankets
- Towels for bathing and beach towel for water activities, washcloth,
- Toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush/comb, feminine hygiene products, a bag to carry toiletries in)
- Shower shoes (flip flops)
- Sunscreen/Insect Repellent
- Flashlight
- Laundry bag for dirty/wet clothes
- Money for Snack Shack – Camp T-shirts will be available for purchase at the Snack Shack while supplies last – Cost $10 – $15 each.
What clothing should campers pack for camp? Modesty is encouraged to reflect an appropriate Christian witness. Pack clothing that is comfortable in hot weather, suitable for outdoor games, and can get wet/dirty without being ruined. Campers should not pack clothing that promotes alcohol, tobacco, drug use, sexual behavior, or contains inappropriate language or graphics/slogans. Please, no spaghetti straps, halter tops, tube tops, backless tops, and bare midriffs. Shorts should be modest and of appropriate length (not too tight, too high, or too low), and bathing suits should be one piece and modest. We reserve the right to ask campers to change inappropriate clothing

Clothing For Games/Activities:
- Clothes that can get dirty and possibly paint on them. (shorts, t-shirts)
- Hats/visor, sunglasses
- Flip-flops, tennis shoes
- Swimsuits – Boys must wear swim trunks (no Speedos). Girls must wear modest one-piece swimsuits, two-piece swimsuits will be permitted provided they completely cover the abdomen area even with the hands in the air.
Should I label my camper’s items? Label Everything You Can – Lost items usually turn up in Lost and Found. Having a name on the item makes it much simpler to return it.
What kind of activities are available at camp?
All camp sessions include Bible study, praise, and worship, guest speakers, games and recreation. Some activities are lawn games, urban assault, basketball, gaga ball, waterslides, foosball, arts and crafts, and other activities.
Will there be a themed night? If a theme night is planned, camper’s will receive an email notification well in advance of camp.
What do I need to know about medicine that my child takes? ALL medications must be packed separately from camper’s luggage so they can be turned in, at Check-in, to the Camp Nurse. All medications should be in their original container Include camper’s name and instructions on doses and times for the camp nurse. All medications (prescription, non-prescription and over-the-counter) remain with and are dispensed by the Camp Nurse.
What is my child become ill or is injured? Parents or guardians will be notified if camper becomes ill or injured. Volunteer licensed nurses will dispense all medications and tend to the need of campers. Campers needing total care must be accompanied by an adult familiar with their individual needs.
Can campers bring cell phones and other electronic devices?
Take this time to get away, unplug, and draw closer to God!
Cellular service at the camp is extremely limited and no Wi-Fi service is available for campers. Outlets in the cabins are limited. Campers will not need alarm clocks and we will have several people helping take pictures and videos. The use of radios, iPods, and cell phones is discouraged.
Upon arrival at camp, we will collect all electronic items and hold them in a safe, locked place during the week to be returned on the last day. This is an effort to limit distraction so that campers may have a great experience at camp. Staff and chaperones will be allowed to keep their phones.
If you still choose to bring it, we will not be responsible if your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged in any way. We recommend that campers just leave them at home. Camp leaders have the necessary contact information should a camper need to get in touch with parents/guardians.
Can campers bring their bicycles? Yes, campers can bring their bicycles.
What items are strictly prohibited?
Weapons of any kind, i.e. guns, knives, tasers. If found they will be confiscated, and a parent/guardian will be asked to pick up the camper and the items. The same goes for ANY tobacco products or paraphernalia, i.e. cigarettes, lighters, and any vape devices.
